THE DONKEYS (WHAT I WANT SINGLE)

Surprisingly there's not much info out there on these guy's. I thought for sure there would be. The Donkeys were from Wake feild, in the North Midlands U.K. They came together around 1979. This was their first single on the Manchester based Rhesus Records. It was later picked up by Derum Records where it went to #90 on the BBC Charts. Derum promised an Lp that never materialised. They also toured as a support group for Stiff Little Fingers. I think they released five singles in all, the last one, Listen To Your Radio (which if I had to pick would be my second favorite to this one) saw the band make a name change to the Donkees. They broke up some time shortly after that around 1981 or so. Neil Ferguson (lead guitar and vocals) also did some producing of such bands as The Two-Tone-Pinks and Chumbawamba. He later ended up playing with Chumbawamba as well. There's no real info on his brother Tony (guitar) or the rest of the band. As per usual if you have anything you would like to add please feel free.
